Many people are saying these days
that time seems to be different, that it seems to be going by faster than it used to, that a day doesn't seem to be what it once was. It isn't just older people saying this. Younger people have noticed it, too. They say that the days seem shorter, that they can't seem to get done in a day what they used to be able to do. And not only that, when the end of the day comes, they're absolutely exhausted.
Yes, I do believe that time itself has changed
and the timeline along with it. How we measure it, how we look at it, how we spend it, and how we experience it are now different. And someday I may tackle the esoteric reasons for this, because there are a few, but today I want to talk about the hidden-in-plain-sight reasons for it.
There are many things we spend our time on, and these things often start out as good, positive, uplifting, and caring things we want to spend our time on and feel good about doing. But in a short while, unbeknownst to us, a darkness takes over. We find ourselves full of obligation, "have to's," new duties, self-righteous campaigns, and new expenses. It happens quickly!
And there's a reason for it.
There's always a reason for it. Someone in the background is making a lot of money off our accidentally misplaced loyalty. Someone is taking advantage of our good nature, and in the process of fleecing us, they also herd us in a certain direction they want us to go. What starts out as good, altruistic intentions on our part often turns into something sinister, and in the process we end up wasting and losing a great deal of time.
