The practice of “positive affirmations”
has been around for thousands of years, and people still haven’t grown tired of it. That’s because, plain and simple, affirmations work. This is why they are as popular today as they were back in the Bronze Age and probably much further back than that.
Basically, they’re positive phrases said regularly and methodically while temporarily suspending disbelief, that bring about positive—seemingly miraculous—changes in life. They tap into your creative subconscious mind to truly work amazing feats. And who wouldn’t want positive changes and wonderful things to happen in their life?
In this episode,
I talk to you about what affirmations are and how to do them. I also give you three examples of successes that have occurred in my own life. And I go over the reasons for possible failure as well as what to do when you’re consumed with fear or negativity and can’t get to that “belief” place in your mind.
I’m no expert on affirmations, but I have studied the process for many, many years, and I have some pretty good information to offer people on how to get started. If you’re interested in pursuing affirmations further, the now classic Creative Visualization by Shakti Gawain still gives fantastic information about pairing positive affirmations with visualization. This will always be on my bookshelf.
If you feel doubtful
and you’re hesitant to try, you have to ask yourself: What do you have to lose? I say you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Give it a shot!
