Something special about the act of making bread. The time spent as with my bread making starts the night before and doesn't end until late afternoon the next day so, its planned out in advance. It's so good in the end as the family slathers it with Kerry Gold or mashed avocado. So many options and your right we have the option of jumping off that train and to go a diffrent direction and maybe a more positive one at that. I remember when I was growing up living very close to Charlton Woolen mill in MA and always hearing the sounds of the mill. Now that is long gone and things are done cheaply and others suffer in countries with slave labor to make products of low quailty. What a shame. I hope in smome small way all of us can chose to do something of our own even if it's not making bread. Much love, Robin in VT. And writer I'm not but i'm glad you are!
Yes, bread making sure teaches a lot of lessons, Robin. Thanks for pointing out the planning part. It does take planning, especially when making "artisan" bread, as I know you do. It takes planning, intention, and know-how. (And I do so love the Kerry Gold! :) )
We've lost most of our manufacturing to cheap slave labor in other countries. The rich got richer and the rest of us got a lot poorer. I'm a firm believer in capitalism but not crony capitalism. People are waking up a bit, though. The more we can do for ourselves, the less we will need from "them" and the less we will feel victimized.
Thank you for my "In Pursuit fix this morning. Excellent, just excellent.
Thanks for reading, and I'm so glad you enjoyed! :)

And the Beatles said 'you never give me your money, you only give me your funny papers and in the middle of negotiation it breaks down.
🎵 "I never give you my number, I only give you my situation, and in the middle of investigation I break down." 🎵
